After the rain

The garden is in and we just had a hard rain.  No damage to the plants even though there roots are still shallow in the ground.  They are hardy plants came from a good start.  My son and his wife started them from seeds.  They took such care with these seedlings, using specially made potting soil, proper watering, protecting them from the early spring cold.  Isn't this the way we like to think of our first years of growth, special care to help us become that special someone.  What happens along the way?  Heavy rains?  Are roots never took hold?  How did I become a wallflower?  Definition: girl onlooker at a party.  Don't take this wrong I am not depressed I just see my life right now as a onlooker.  The two boys we raised are off on their own.  I have been a stay at home Mom.  My husband and I are getting ready to start a new chapter in our lives selling our house of 16 years and moving to another part of the state.  I believe I came from a good start and the roots did take hold.  I just want to bloom again and stop being the wallflower.  The garden is in and the rain has stopped it's time to pull some weeds.  The sun hasn't come out, but it will.

This Christmas cactus is approximately 100 years old.  It was passed down to me from my Grandmother my Mom's Mother.  It endured hard times on a small Wisconsin farm it lived to see(figuratively) the family grow.  It blooms every year faithfully.  There is so much to learn by observing God's creations.  Plants and animals don't question they just keep on doing what they were meant to do.  Maybe we think to much.  I think I am done talking for today and will get out there and start doing.
